Terms of use
Terms of use for Hebrish models
Free for personal, research, education and non-profit use. Commercial use, including telephony, needs a commercial licence. Version 1.1 of these terms, 2026-10-20.
In short
- Non-commercial use is free. Personal dictation, research, teaching, non-profits and open-source projects that are not sold.
- Commercial use needs a licence. Telephony, call centres, voice agents, and any product or hosted service sold to others. Write to access-requests@hebrish.app.
- Access is by request. The model repositories on Hugging Face are gated. Request access there, or by email.
- Credit Hebrish when you publish or share work that uses the models.
1. What these terms cover
These terms cover the Hebrish models: the Parakeet code-switching fine-tune, the Nemotron streaming fine-tune and the Whisper fine-tunes, in every format they are published in, including quantised and converted builds (GGUF, ONNX, sherpa-onnx, MLX, GGML). They also cover the Hebrish apps' use of those models. "Hebrish" means the project run by Daniel Rosehill.
2. Licences by version
| Model and version | Licence |
|---|---|
| Parakeet fine-tune PoC-1 to PoC-5, and v1.0 (Jachnun) | CC-BY-4.0, as released. These terms do not restrict any right that licence grants. |
| Parakeet fine-tune v1.1 and later | CC-BY-NC-4.0 plus these terms. Commercial use needs a commercial licence. |
| Nemotron streaming fine-tune | NVIDIA Open Model License, plus these terms |
| Whisper fine-tunes | MIT, as released, plus these terms for access |
| Datasets | As stated on each dataset card (CC-BY-4.0 or MIT). Not changed by these terms. |
Where a licence above grants a right, that licence governs it. The base models remain under their own licences: NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v2 (CC-BY-4.0), NVIDIA Nemotron Speech Streaming (NVIDIA Open Model License), OpenAI Whisper (MIT).
3. Non-commercial use
Free, with credit. Non-commercial use means use that is not primarily for commercial advantage or payment, for example:
- dictating your own notes, messages and documents;
- research and evaluation, including publishing results;
- teaching and learning;
- non-profit organisations' own work;
- open-source projects, as long as the model is not sold or offered as a paid service.
If you request access to a gated model, we ask you to complete the attestation form, confirming your name, organisation and intended use, and send it to access-requests@hebrish.app.
4. Commercial use
Commercial use needs a written commercial licence from Hebrish. That includes:
- telephony, call-centre and contact-centre transcription;
- voice agents and assistants offered to customers;
- any product, app or hosted service that is sold, or that uses the models to earn revenue;
- internal use by a business for its commercial operations.
Commercial licences can include models tuned for your domain or audio, other voices, and support. Write to access-requests@hebrish.app with what you want to build.
5. Access
The model repositories on Hugging Face require an access request. Use the request button on the model page, or write to access-requests@hebrish.app. The free tools get the model from Hebrish's own CDN, cdn.hebrish.app: the Hebrish apps download it there, and so does the in-browser demo. The same terms apply to those copies. Please do not redistribute the weights outside the apps without access.
6. The Hebrish apps
The apps are free. They download the model once and transcribe on your device; your audio is not uploaded. Using the apps for your own dictation is non-commercial use. Using them to transcribe for paying customers, or as part of a commercial telephony or call-centre workflow, needs a commercial licence.
7. No warranty
Hebrish is an experimental, early-stage project, trained on one speaker's voice. The models and apps are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Transcripts can be wrong, including names, numbers and Hebrew terms. Do not rely on them where a mistake could cause harm, for example in medical, legal, financial, emergency or safety-critical settings, without a person checking the output. To the extent the law allows, Hebrish is not liable for any loss arising from use of the models or apps.
8. Credit
When you publish or share work that uses a Hebrish model, credit it, for example: "Speech recognition by Hebrish (hebrish.app), a fine-tune of NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v2." Keep the licence notices that come with the files.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated. Each version is dated, and a change applies only to model versions released after it. Questions: access-requests@hebrish.app.
Terms version 1.1, 2026-10-20 (1.0: 2026-10-19). 1.1 changes only section 5: the apps and the demo now download from the Hebrish CDN, and every Hugging Face model repository needs an access request. A plain summary of how Hebrish licenses its models; it is not legal advice.
