Download Hebrish

Free, on-device dictation that writes Hebrew words right. Pick your platform.

Each app then downloads the model once, about 660 MB, from Hugging Face. No install at all: try it in the browser.

Android

  1. Download the APK on your phone and open it. Android will ask you to allow installs from your browser.
  2. Open Parlance and pick the English-Hebrew code-switching model. It downloads once.
  3. Tap Try it now to dictate into a notepad before setting anything up.
  4. To dictate anywhere, enable Parlance as an input method and use it from HeliBoard's mic key.

arm64 phones only. Early build. Full steps: setup guide.

Ubuntu

Install the package, then start Parlance from the app menu. It sits in the tray: press the hotkey (or a foot pedal), talk, and the text is pasted at your cursor.

sudo apt install ./parlance_0.1.0-1_amd64.deb

It replaces Voice To Hebrish and Parakeet-Type-Ubuntu, and keeps Voice To Hebrish's settings and downloaded model.

Windows

Unzip the folder anywhere and run Parlance.exe. The build is unsigned, so SmartScreen may warn you the first time.

Not yet tried on real Windows hardware. If it misbehaves, please report it.

Other ways to run it

  • Offline Voice Input on Android (Google Play): import the Q8_0 GGUF (730 MB), or the Q4_K_M GGUF (475 MB) on phones with 4 GB of RAM or less.
  • Handy on Linux (GitHub) loads the same GGUF.
  • Mac (Apple Silicon): the MLX build with pip install parakeet-mlx. It is still version 3.
  • Python and GPUs: the full-precision .nemo model with NVIDIA NeMo.

Every format and version is listed on the model card. What changed between releases: changelog.
